FAQ about working at plant values

We know that our way of working raises some questions; even for us sometimes 😉
That's why we answer the questions we are asked most frequently here.

Why are you doing this?

We take sustainability seriously and want to make a difference. Our motivation comes from within. We infect others with this fire. It can be the same for you!

Do you meet live, do you have a head office or a permanent office?

We regularly meet live with the whole team. Currently this happens once a month for three days in Dresden. In between, we meet irregularly in smaller constellations, e.g. sometimes in pairs in Dresden, sometimes in threes in Berlin, etc.
(Our current locations are Berlin, Görlitz and Dresden).
We would like you to be present, e.g. at the team meeting once a month in Dresden. In addition to digital work, it is important to us that we regularly organise live meetings with other plant values people.
Trainees should be there more often for the high learning transfer and learn with us on site.

Home office, remote work, coworking?

Everything is possible! We support you in finding and setting up a workplace at your place of residence. For example, you can set up a home office workplace or organise a space in a coworking space.

How often are you travelling to customers?

Travelling is sometimes necessary, but for us (atypical for consultants) it is rather rare. Our clients are located all over Germany, but most of our appointments are virtual. Sometimes face-to-face meetings are still useful, of course. We generally try to minimise our business trips. On the one hand, so that we can really work at our location and enable work-life balance and family friendliness. On the other hand, to minimise the environmental impact of our project work.

Which industries do you work with?

Across the board! We are approached by a wide range of industries and we are always open to new ideas. This means that we are constantly familiarising ourselves with new business models and economic sectors. That's what makes our work so instructive and exciting!

How big are projects?

From a few weeks to two years of support, everything is possible. Projects lasting 3 to 9 months are often typical. Each Consultant is active in several projects at the same time.

Does everyone do everything?

We are all generalists for sustainability, whereby each of us has 1-2 areas of specialisation or develops them over time. These specialisations typically follow a personal preference or can develop individually over time.
We divide up internal tasks so that, for example, we have defined areas of responsibility for finance, legal, marketing, HR, IT and knowledge management within the team. We always make strategic decisions together.

How do you keep up to date?

We organise monthly internal training for specialist and methodological knowledge. To this end, we share knowledge from the team with the team. We also have a time and money budget for further training. This can be used for courses, books, online seminars, a degree programme, etc.

What do I earn at plant values?

As a plant values consultant: We have not set a fixed salary because the payment is based on real needs. Every person's needs are different. The aim of our salary system is to ensure equal benefits. The salary paid out is broken down and communicated in a completely transparent manner for all team members. And yes, we are talking about salary, even though we are self-employed and shareholders. We plan payouts months in advance for maximum planning security despite the project business.

Trainees and working students are permanently employed and a fixed salary is agreed.

How do I help shape plant values?

Every day with initiatives and proposals or with work in your own internal area of responsibility. We also have strategic planning meetings four times a year, where we discuss the hottest topics and all planties develop the way forward together.
And everyone has the same say from day one!

Innovation and room for experimentation?

We see plant values as a space for experimentation and like to try out new approaches ourselves. For example, in work organisation, our salary system or decision-making. We try to run plant values as sustainably as possible and are always open to trying new things!

We couldn't answer your questions yet?

Then just ask me. I am responsible for people at plant values.
