Sustainability is generally the English translation of the word sustainability. It is derived from the Latin "sustenta" ("to sustain") and therefore has the same meaning as the German "Nachhaltigkeit". In German, sustainability is being used more and more frequently and is primarily used in business and scientific language. Due to its more limited use, it is perceived less as a buzzword and therefore refers to the consistent pursuit of the principle of responsible resource consumption.
