ISO 14001 specifies certifiable requirements for an environmental management system. This standard can be applied to both manufacturing and service-providing companies and organisations. ISO 14001 is part of a family of standards that includes the areas of environmental auditing, communication, labelling and performance evaluation as well as life cycle assessment and other environmental aspects of product development.
